For many when they hear the word abortion they have several different feelings, but for most people they have a definite opinion. For many people who have that opinion have not faced the dilemma of being pregnant and having to make a decision of what to do with a baby. It’s even been in the news quite often of how controversial abortion is, but there are things to consider on both sides of the coin when it comes down to being pregnant.
I have a really good friend that his wife was pregnant with their seventh child. They found out that she was at high risk and that more than likely either the baby or herself would die if she went full term. They chose to chance it and got to the end of the pregnancy and she delivered the baby and she ended up losing her life. Often when we would visit he would comment that was such a hard decision. They could have aborted the baby and he would have had his wife with him.
He said that they had looked at different abortion clinics in Brooklyn and other locations and had considered even just talking with them to see what they would suggest or the details of abortion. He said they never did that and that maybe if they would have talked with an abortion clinic in Brooklyn or any other location that maybe they wouldn’t have been so afraid of abortion. He didn’t know, but the decision had been made and he was moving on with his life.
Abortion is a difficult decision for those that have medical concerns and for those women that might be pregnant and feeling all alone and don’t know what to do. For those that have never faced this challenge they might be thinking that the decision is easy to put the baby up for adoption or for sure they would have kept the baby and that there is no way they could have given up the baby. It’s that saying of until you have walked a mile in someone’s shoes you just have no idea what is going on in someone’s life.
The best part is that abortion clinics don’t have to be scary. The other thing is if you go and talk with them you are not committed to make the decision to have an abortion. You can gather the information and then go home and make a decision. You can talk with people and find out how different decisions have affected their lives. There are abortion clinics all over, whether you visit one in Brooklyn or in any other city or state it is worth gathering information and being informed.
