Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an abortion cost in Brooklyn?

It is not possible to give a definite answer to this question as there are a number of factors that affect the total abortion price. These include surgical or non-surgical termination, length of the pregnancy, your blood type, and so on. Abortion costs in Brooklyn, New York for surgical termination of your pregnancy can vary from $400 to $2,500. Your best bet would be to schedule an appointment with a specialist who will determine which pregnancy termination method is applicable to you.

Where can I get an abortion near me?

It might be a challenge to find abortion clinics in Brooklyn that you can trust. You need to be a hundred percent sure that the clinic is safe and will provide only top quality service. However, every clinic is different and the cost of service and its quality is also different. Some clinics might provide abortions up to 11 weeks into pregnancy while others offer abortions up to 26 weeks into pregnancy. If you have doubts about which clinic to choose, you can always call different clinics and discuss the options they can offer.

Is abortion covered by medical insurance?

Abortion prices in Brooklyn are relatively high and its coverage depends on whether a person has insurance through Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces, a private employer-sponsored plan, or another source. In addition to that, states have significant control over the ways private insurance companies cover abortion. It is highly recommended to contact your insurance provider before undergoing an abortion procedure.

What to choose: a surgical or non-surgical abortion?

When it comes to surgical termination of pregnancy, it involves greater privacy. However, if you opt for a non-surgical abortion, there are no risks associated with the surgery. Medical abortion can feel “more natural”, as it is similar to having a miscarriage or a heavy period. The cost of abortion in New York, if taking into account the same length of pregnancy (up to 11 weeks), is relatively similar. The decision to have a medical or surgical termination of pregnancy depends only on you and you have to take into consideration your individual circumstances, medical history, and personal preferences.
